Rajasthan News: Gehlot government took these important decisions in the cabinet meeting!

An important decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday at CM Niwas. During the meeting, the Gehlot government has approved the proposal for notification for the formation of 17 new municipalities in 12 districts of Rajasthan. The formation of these municipalities was announced in the state budget 2020-21.


The municipalities approved by the Cabinet in 12 districts (Dausa, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Sirohi, Jodhpur, Kota, Sriganganagar, Sawai Madhopur, Baran, Karauli, and Dhaulpur) are Mandavari, Bassi, Ramgarh, Bansur, Jawal, Bhopalgarh, Lalgarh-Jatan, Uchhain, Sikri, Saramathura, Basedi, Atru, Pavta-Pragpura, Sultanpur, Sapotra, Laxmangarh and Bamnwas. Now the elections of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be conducted in the remaining rural areas from the newly formed municipal areas in these districts.

At the meeting, the Supreme Court also discussed the approach sought from all the states during the hearing of the petition under consideration in respect of reservation limit of 50 percent and reservation under 50 percent in specific circumstances only.
