GUWAHATI: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chouhan and BJP national president JP Nadda went all out against Congress on Monday by saying that the Grand Old Party is following in Jinnah’s footseps and was capable of providing only one guarantee (in reference to five guarantee promises by Congress) and that was “corruption” during their campaign blitzkrieg in Assam, reports Prabin Kalita.
At an election rally at Naharkatiya, Chouhan said, “Congress is not following in Mahatma Gandhi’s footsteps. Congress and Rahul Gandhi are following in Jinnah’s footsteps. And Jinnah’s steps will destroy Assam and India.”

At an election rally at Naharkatiya, Chouhan said, “Congress is not following in Mahatma Gandhi’s footsteps. Congress and Rahul Gandhi are following in Jinnah’s footsteps. And Jinnah’s steps will destroy Assam and India.”
Referring to its alliance with AIUDF in Assam, ISF in West Bengal and IUML in Kerala, he added that Rahul Gandhi was “dividing” India into north and south and while doing the same politics in Assam, he is creating differences between different tribes and communities.
On the other hand, Nadda tore into Congress saying that Grand Old Party was capable of providing only one guarantee (in reference to five guarantee promises by Congress) and that was “corruption.” The BJP leader, who attended two rallies at Sootea, Barchalla and Dhakuakhana, said, “For 60 years, Congress leaders only indulged in corruption and so for the last five years, we had to fill up pot-holes, repair roads and convert double lane highways to four and six-lanes.”
Nadda added that the country was heading towards a “Congress-mukt Bharat”. “There are still a few states left but soon all will be a part of the NDA. It is the BJP which has a mission and Congress is only interested in commission,” the BJP leader alleged.
He further said Assam will be free from floods in the next five years as “satellite imagery has been done and ponds, lakes and other water-bodies will be created in a scientfic manner to ensure that people and their livelihoods are not affected.”
Speaking on India’s handling of coronavirus outbreak, Nada, who is a former Union health minister, praised the “able leadership” of the PM for effective handling of the crisis when many of the advanced countries were grappling with it.
