March 16, 2021 marks the 9-year anniversary of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s historic achievement and the India Legends players and staff made sure to make the day special for the Master Blaster. Nine years ago today in 2012, Tendulkar slammed his 100th and last international century against Bangladesh in Dhaka – a record that looks unbeatable at least in the recent future.
To mark the occasion, the India Legends team spinner Pragyan Ojha posted a video on his Twitter account where Tendulkar is seen cutting the cake and celebrating with his teammates. Ojha captioned it: “Different day but the reason remains the same. Celebrating @sachin_rt paaji’s 100th 100.”

Tendulkar slammed 114 off 147 balls to bring up his 100th century in international cricket and 49th in ODIs. The now 47-year-old’s remaining 51 centuries came in Test cricket.
However, the match didn’t end in India’s favour as Bangladesh won the game by 5 wickets.
Riding on Tendulkar’s century and fifties from Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina, India posted 289/5 from their 50 overs. Bangladesh came out attacking and lost Nazimuddin early but Tamim Iqbal (70), Jahurul Islam (53) and Nasir Hossain (54) hit fifties along with Shakib Al Hasan’s 31-ball 49 and Mushfiqur Rahim’s 25-ball 46 made sure Bangladesh got over the line with five wickets in hand and four balls to spare.
Currently, Tendulkar is with the Indian Legends team and playing the Road Safety World Series along with his former teammates. India are currently second on the table with 20 points from 6 games. They have won five and lost one game so far.
Tendulkar has scored 138 runs from 5 games at an average of 34.50.
He will next be seen in action in India Legends’ semi-final game against the winner of the England Legends versus West Indies Legends match at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur.
