COVID: J&K reports 97 new +ve cases, two deaths

Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday informed that 97 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (19 from Jammu division and 78 from Kashmir division), have been reported thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 127831.

Also two deaths have been reported, one from Jammu Division and one from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 59 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 02 from Jammu Division and 57 from Kashmir Division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 127831 positive cases, 973 are Active Positive, 124882 have recovered and 1976 have died; 731 in Jammu division and 1245 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 5606242test results available, 5478411 samples have been tested as negative till March 16.

Till date 1399729 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29839 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 973 in isolation and 120604 in home surveillance.

Besides, 1246337 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Ambala, Mar 16 (UNI) An 18 years old youth identified as Paras resident of village Bibipur Shehzadpur, was killed when a group of 8-10 assailants attacked him with clubs and baseballs sticks at the Shehzadpur bus stand Monday evening. Paras was injured seriously and was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
