Tripura to hold 5 days budget session from March 19

Agartala, Mar 16 (UNI) In the midst of large scale dissidence in the ruling front of BJP and IPFT against the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the business advisory committee of Tripura assembly has decided to hold a five days budget session from March 19 next.

The Speaker Rebati Mohan Das said here today that the session will be continued till March 25. Besides presenting a budget for 2021-22 and usual legislative business, the government has planned to introduce as many as nine bills during the session.

As a custom, the session will begin with the address of Governor Ramesh Baish followed by the presentation of the budget by the Deputy Chief Minister holding the portfolio of Finance Jishnu Dev Varma on the first day. There will be a discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor's speech and proposed budget before it passes.

CM Biren hands over Rs 5 lakhs to kin of jawan who died in LOC

Imphal, Mar 16 (UNI): N. Biren Singh handed over a cheque of Rs. 5
lakh under ‘Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ex-Gratia Scheme’ to the
family of Sub-Inspector (GD) Paotinsat Guite of 59th Battalion BSF,
who died due to bullet injuries during exchange of fire with
terrorists at line of control (LOC) under Rajouri Sector in Jammu and
Kashmir on December 1 last year. He hailed from Maphou Kuki in
Kangpokpi District.
