As a part of Celebration of International Women’s Day, One Day Awareness Cum Interaction Programme for the widow/abandoned women was organised at Pheijaleitong Community Hall, Thongju Imphal East on 08th March 2021. The program was organised by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Imphal East and Thongju Legal Aid Clinic.

The awareness cum interaction program was organised as a part of the Project “Empowering the widows/abandoned women of Manipur” initiated by Manipur State Legal Services Authority. The main objective of the project is to provide an opportunity for the widows/abandoned women to get rehabilitated & become an integral part of society, to make them stand on their own feet, to improve their children's lives and to become self-sustaining contributors of growth.

Resource persons namely K. Indrani Devi (Community Resource Person) from Manipur State Livelihood Mission addresses on various free livelihood support programs and welfare schemes which can be availed by the widows. A total of 35 widows attended the said programme.

In continuation, a one-day awareness cum legal aid and Health card enrolment camp for women was organised at Top Chingtha Community Hall on 08th March 2021.

The program was organised by Top Chingtha Village Level Federation (Mangal Piba and Tengbang Piba) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Imphal East and Nungbrang Legal Aid Clinic supported by Manipur State Legal Services Authority.

The awareness cum health enrolment program was organised as a part of the Project “Break the Silence ” initiated by Manipur State Legal Services Authority.

Resource person Ch. Momon Singh, Advocate, Manipur State Legal Services Authority address the women on free legal aid and existence of various legal services institutions in the state. During the health enrolment camp, a total of 125 women were enrolled for PMJAY and CMHT Health Card. The benefits of the Health Cards are Cashless treatment upto Rs 5 Lakhs for PMJAY and Cashless treatment upto Rs 2 Lakhs for CMHT in any empanelled Public and Private Hospitals in Manipur and outside Manipur

Another One Day Legal Awareness Programme was also organized by MASLSA in association with Eta Group on 8th March, 2021 at Ema Keithel as a part of the observance of International Women's Day. The programme was participated by the women vendors of Khwairamband market area. Pamphlets of MASLSA were also distributed as awareness to the general public.

One Day Legal Awareness Programmes to mark the observance of International Women’s Day were also organized at Heingang Awang Leikai Community Hall, Imphal East District; Khugdongyon Village, Chandel district; SDWA Hall, Senapati District & Conference Hall, Working Women’s Forum, Imphal West District, Manipur by the respective District Legal Services Authorities. Resource persons apprise the participants on laws relating to women, crime against women etc.
