Currently you pay road,/transit taxes through fuel purchase at the gas station. As more and more people use electric, these funds will start to dwindle, once the balance is just right they will switch to a per mile/km fee, most likely at insurance purchase. It will cost as much if not more to drive an electric than gas from that point on. There is no way this wont happen, too much money at stake. Electric cars save right now. But not for long.
Book marked for the inevitable bump of tears in the future for electric carcels.

all electric cars=control of movement
brb pay our ridiculous "miles driven tax" or sit your ass at home
brb youve reached your allotted miles allowance for the month, car is now inoperable. We're doing this for your own good cause Climate Change
brb you havent paid your tickets/taxes/registration/insurance/etc your car is now disabled via Over The Air update
brb another layer tracking your every inch driven on top of cell phones etc
brb using Space Xs Starlink to track you on or offroad (lol at people clammoring for Elons entire Earth internet coverage, have no idea what theyre begging for)
I despise electric vehicles, not because of what they are but because of what theyll be used for. Anyone who doesnt think theyll be used as a vessel of control is flat out lying to themselves.
