Representatives of defense companies from across the country deliberate upon stakeholders conference organized by PHD Chamber
Chandigarh, March 16: In wake of making the state a hub of industries in the aerospace and defense sector, Haryana has formulated an ‘Aerospace and Defence Policy’ realizing its potential for national security as well pouring investment in the region. This was revealed by Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Dushyant Chautala during a conference of the stakeholders jointly organized by Haryana Civil Aviation and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry at PWD Rest House, Panchkula on Tuesday. He informed that a committee consisting of representatives of the Civil Aviation Department, MSME Department, Industries Department, and Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce will be
formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Saket Kumar, Director General, Civil Aviation Department, Haryana, to formulate the policy for the next 15-20 days. He emphasized the suggestions of stakeholders to finalized the aerospace and defense policy by May 1, 2021.

The Deputy CM, who also holds the charge of the Civil Aviation Department said that the State Government has discussed such a unique policy ‘Haryana Industry and Employment Policy- by discussing several rounds with stakeholders. 2020’ which has been appreciated all across the country.
Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that Haryana is already a leader in the auto sector, now by creating an ‘Aerospace and Defence Policy’, the state wants to invite more and more industries related to aerospace and defense in the state so that Haryana will become a hub in these areas as well. He informed that the aviation-hub being prepared in Hisar will also provide an opportunity to the aerospace and other industries in the defense sector.
Earlier, Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce, while welcoming Deputy Chief Minister and delegates said that Haryana’s contribution to national defense is commendable. The need of the hour is to make a policy for industries in the field of defense. It will also strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atma-Nirbhar movement. Pranab Gupta, Chairman, Haryana Chapter of the PHD Chamber of Commerce said that every possible cooperation would be made by the representatives of the Chamber in making this policy to the Government of Haryana.
Present on the occasion, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, said that the suggestions given by the stakeholders are vital and respected for the formulations of a dynamic and comprehensive policy by incorporating their recommendations. Special concessions will be given to the industries investing in the field of aerospace and defense in the state. Director-General of Civil Aviation Department, Dr. Saket Kumar, while giving detailed information about the ongoing projects in the state of the department, welcomed the stakeholders to invest in the state
