AAP demands another chance to UPSC candidates who missed exams due to Covid pandemic

AAP demands another chance to UPSC candidates who missed exams due to Covid pandemic

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party Member Sanjay Singh on Tuesday demanded another chance to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants who missed the exams last year owing to the Covid pandemic.

Requesting the Government to consider the matter sympathetically in the Rajya Sabha, Mr Singh said many of the candidates had missed the last chance to appear for the examination. While many of them were themselves infected with the virus, several others had infected people at home forcing them to miss the opportunity.

“I met hundreds of such candidates. Some of them lost their relatives to the pandemonium while many of them were pressed into service as Covid warriors and hence could not appear for the said examination”, Mr Sanjay Singh said.

The Centre has informed the Supreme Court that it has been mulling on this issue, therefore, the Government should consider giving them an additional attempt, the AAP lawmaker said.
