Protesters force Haryana deputy CM’s aide to leave JJP office

Haryana deputy CM Dushyant Chautala
JIND: Haryana deputy CM Dushyant Chautala’s aide and JJP functionary Jagdish Sihag had to leave the party office in Uchana near here as BKU activists reached the spot with black flags on Monday.
This is the second time when the deputy CM’s aide has been forced to leave the party office near Cotton Market. Dushyant is the MLA from Uchana assembly seat, under which the town falls. Farmers told the district administration to ask the JJP leaders not to visit Uchana, said Azad Singh Palwa, BKU Jind district president. Farmers would welcome JJP and BJP leaders in their “own style” if they entered villages or towns in the district, he added.
Later, farmers submitted a memorandum to Uchana SDM Prit Pal Singh, asking the DC to reply within two days to their demand of not allowing the BJP-JJP coalition partner leaders in the district.
A heavy police force was deployed around the JJP office and the SDM placated the protesters by taking the memorandum. The SDM said the activists were demanding that the JJP leaders not be allowed in town. “I have apprised the DC of the situation. However, farmers staged their protest peacefully,” he said.
Pahwa said, “JJP is seeking to divide the agitation by creating tension in villages among different sections of society. This is the last chance for the district administration to make JJP and BJP leaders understand not to enter villages or town until the three central farm laws are scrapped. Otherwise such leaders would be welcomed in our own style and the district administration would be held responsible for any untoward incident.”
Sihag said he was asked by the depyty CM to visit Uchana to deal with the grievances of people there. “I am not an MLA or MP, and such opposition makes the agitation weak. Farmers should reconsider protesting against me,” he said.
