With the Asus ROG Phone 5 India release date of April 15, Asus has announced that the ROG Phone 3 gets a price drop during Flipkart's Electronics Sale. For the period of the Flipkart Electronics Sale the Asus ROG Phone 3 price is Rs. 41,999 instead of Rs. 46,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage version while the 12GB RAM/128GB option is Rs. 45,999 instead of Rs. 49,999. There's an additional Rs. 1,000 discount if you use an HDFC Credit Card or opt for a credit card EMI transaction.
The ROG Phone 3 specifications include a Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, 144Hz 10 Bit HDR AMOLED Display, Dual Partition capable Ultra Sonic Air Triggers and 6000 mAh battery. You can check out the deals for it on Flipkart right here.
Should You Buy the Asus ROG Phone 5 or ROG Phone 3?
The Asus ROG Phone 5 price is Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB RAM edition with 128GB storage. There's a 12GB RAM version with 256GB storage for Rs. 57,999 too. Furthermore, Asus also has the ROG Phone 5 Pro for Rs. 69,999 and the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate for Rs. 79,999 with 16GB RAM/512GB and 18GB/512GB respectively. All of these ship with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 6,000mAh battery, and a headphone jack along with an improved 144Hz display.
If you're on a budget the ROG Phone 3 is a better option due to the price difference alone. Aside from slightly larger bezels and the lack of a headphone jack, it's still a pretty decent choice. The performance holds up in most games too. Though keep in mind that in our impressions of the Asus ROG Phone 5, Genshin Impact and Fortnite posed a few issues so it's safe to say the ROG Phone 3 may struggle with these games as well.
