The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, March 16, 2021
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The storm that unloaded feet of snow across the Rockies and
High Plains over the weekend will unravel and weaken as it
reaches the East tomorrow. Stray showers are forecast to
sweep through the upper Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic, while
a drenching rain targets Louisiana to the Carolinas. Just
enough cold air may remain in place over the central
Appalachians for a brief period of snow or a wintry mix at
the onset of precipitation. Meanwhile, a new storm is
expected to strengthen over the southern Plains, igniting
another round of severe weather across the South Central
states late in the afternoon and overnight. Scattered rain
and snow showers are forecast on the back side of the storm
across the Intermountain West. The West Coast will get a
reprieve from unsettled weather.
