Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) President Duarte Pacheco visited Parliament in Delhi on March 15. He was received by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla upon his arrival. Duarte Pacheco said, “Inter-Parliamentary Union is an association of parliaments. We have now 179 parliaments associated with us, globally. It is important to interact with all parliaments of old and big countries. Thus, we had to visit the largest democracy in the world. If there are possibilities, we will find a way to strengthen the collaboration between India and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.”
