Amid a spike in daily Covid-19 cases in the city, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said the pandemic situation in the national capital is "under control" as long as the positivity rate is below one per cent. Interacting with reporters here, the minister 407 cases were reported on Sunday, and the positivity rate was 0.60 per cent, which is much below the one per cent-mark.
Water supply restored in 90 per cent of affected areas in east, northeast Delhi: DJB
Water supply was restored to around 90 per cent of the areas affected by a pipeline repair work in the trans-Yamuna region on Monday morning, even as some residential colonies complained of getting dirty and smelly water. Residents of east, northeast Delhi rue extended water cut
Residents living in parts of east and northeast Delhi were anguished as water supply shortage woes extended on Sunday. The delay was brought on by the interconnection work of 1,200mm water supply pipeline. However, DJB said that the work had been completed and water supply would be restored soon. DJB officials said that several residents of Vikas Marg had reported major leakage in the main supply line, which had led to water entering the basement of their homes, causing a threat to buildings. To avoid any disasters, the task of interconnection and repair was taken up. The supply was initially expected to be restored on Saturday evening, but complications led to an additional day of misery for residents, with several people complaining they had to purchase drinking water.
