Harbhajan Singh’s Head Spins After Watching this Young Bowler Copying his Bowling Style

Veteran Indian cricket team bowler Harbhajan Singh is pretty active on social media and is known to leave a comment to praise youngsters. However, he came across a video where a young bowler attempted to copy his style of bowling, only way too much better than the legendary spinner usually does. Harbhajan’s action of bowling is quite iconic, and many youngsters and cricketers have had a crack at it. The way the right-arm off-break works to leave batsman bedazzled, this youngster’s action left the batsman dazed and confused.

Reacting to Harbhajan’s post was former Team Indian swashbuckler Yuvraj Singh, who commented ‘Hybrid Version’.

The 40-year-old spinner is still active and will be seen donning the Kolkata Knight Riders’ jersey for the 2021 Indian Premier League. Harbhajan was released by Chennai Super Kings, however, the spinner did register for the 2021 IPL and had his base price at a hefty Rs 2 Crore. In the start, Harbhajan found no bidders, given the age and recent activities. However, coming to his aid and seeing Harbhajan as a back-up option was Kolkata Knight Riders. The franchise will look to gain from his experience to motivate and guide the youngsters.

Harbhajan had earlier played for Mumbai Indians for ten seasons and after his stint, it was the MS Dhoni-led franchise which roped in the spinner. In 160 IPL matches played, the spinner has 150 wickets to his tally and his best figure is 5/18.

In what can be Harbhajan’s last ride in the Indian Premier League, the ‘Turbinator’ will hope to go all out this season by playing a few matches and help KKR to clinch the IPL title, which was last won in 2014.

In the 2021 IPL auctions, KKR brought in 8 players to their squad, five domestic and three international players. Other than Harbhajan, KKR let their wallet loose for Bangladesh star all-rounder, Shakib-Al-Hasan, who was bought for Rs. 3.2 crore. Shakib had earlier played for Kolkata Knight Riders and was a part of the winning side in 2012 and 2014. Harbhajan will be working along the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan and other players as KKR will aim to challenge for the title.

The IPL 2021 schedule has been released and Kolkata Knight Riders play their opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11, 2021, from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
