Adoption continues to be a big taboo across the world. Many people till date are not very comfortable with the idea and the concept of it. In such times, a couple based out of Canada has proved to be an inspiration and a ray of hope. Charlette and Dan Fontaine announced the adoption of their 12-year-old daughter with an adorable Harry Potter-themed gender reveal party. The video of the adorable occasion is unsurprisingly winning netizens’ hearts.
In the video, one can see the happy family of three wearing Potter-themed round-neck black t-shirts. The mother’s t-shirt reads, “She’s a catch,” while the father’s t-shirt reads, “She’s a keepe”. However, the most adorable t-shirt is worn by Bianca (the daughter) on which one can see “the chosen one” written. The joyous short clip begins with Charlette and Dan standing in front of a Hogwarts wallpaper backdrop. The room is also decorated with balloons and has a banner that reads ‘Adoption Day’. The banner is also Potter-themed as one can spot the Hogwarts logo and Harry’s specs and scar on it.
One can also see that the father is holding a black balloon while the mother is heard saying, “I wonder what it is?”As soon as she says that, the 12-year-old girl comes and pops the balloon, out of which pink confetti comes out. The happy princess is seen jumping around with joy, while saying, “It’s a 12-year-old girl!”She is also holding a pink and white placard that reads, “It’s a Girl. A 12-year-old girl.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Charlette revealed that she and her husband were unable to have their biological baby and were looking for adopting a child. During their research, they came to know about something called fostering to adopt. The couple staying in Manitoba had fostered Biancafor four years before formally adopting her. The mother mentions that they had started fostering their daughter when she was eight years old. She also revealed that the text on Bianca’s t-shirt, ‘the chosen one’ is also her nickname.
Talking about the Potter-themed party, she said that she herself is a huge HP fan and now, even her 12-year-old daughter has also fallen in love with the JK Rowling series. Furthermore, Charlette saidthat she hopes that older children also get adopted by people so that they too can get the love of home and family.
