After being accused of multiple sexual allegations, Alexander Wang has acknowledged the allegations and vowed to do better but hasn’t given out an apology.

The fashion designer posted a statement on his personal Instagram account, where he addressed his “past personal behaviour” and acknowledged his accusers’ pain. “I support their right to come forward, and I’ve listened carefully to what they had to say,” he continued. “It was not easy for them to share their stories, and I regret acting in a way that caused them pain.”

Lisa Bloom, an attorney representing 11 of Wang’s accusers, said in a statement to USA TODAY on Tuesday that her clients have met with the fashion designer and seen his latest statement. “My clients had the opportunity to speak their truth to him and expressed their pain and hurt,” she said. “We acknowledge Mr Wang’s apology and we are moving forward.”

In December 2020, Instagram handle Shit Model Management posted a video on TikTok of Owen Mooney, a British model, who claimed that the designer groped his crotch at a nightclub in New York. The public allegations of Mooney are from a party that took place in 2017. After the model told his side of the story, many people anonymously came forward with similar accusations, which was documented on Instagram stories of the handle. Shit Model Management is a platform for models from across the world to share their experiences and issues about the fashion industry.

Similarly, Diet Prada also came in support and reminded its followers that rapper Azealia Banks shared anonymous posts describing the designer as a sexual predator in 2019. Wang is known for his Fashion Week afterparties, even designing clothing with slogans or phrases that represent his party habits such as his spring 2018 “Wangover” headbands are some of the many examples.
