More hospitals, primary health centers included in vax drive in Mysuru

MYSURU: The Covid-19 vaccination drive got a new fillip on Monday with the inclusion of 22 new private hospitals and government-run primary health centers (PHCs) in rural areas.
Response for the vaccination from senior citizens and those with co-morbidities too has picked up, said authorities.
Dr P Ravi, district vaccination officer, said the total number of hospitals where the vaccination is given has now increased to 190 which includes 24 private hospitals and 166 government facilities which include district hospital, taluk hospitals and prominent PHCs spread across the district.
As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, two pink vaccination booths were opened at Bannimantap and the district hospital. The response to this initiative was good.
“We are doing around 370 to 400 vaccinations per day and we are taking the highest safety precautions for senior citizens,” said NG Bharateesha Reddy, vice-president & Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru.
At the JSS Hospital too around 350 to 400 are vaccinated every day, said B Suresh, pro-chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research.
