Nirmal: At least 12 people, including a police sub-inspector and a constable, were injured when clashes broke out between two groups from different communities in Bhainsa district, Nirmal, on Sunday night, police said.
About 100 people involved in the clashes were arrested. Heavy security arrangements with 600 police personnel were made in the town to prevent further violence. Internet services have also been shut down in the city of Bhainsa to prevent the spread of news of common violence.
‘The immediate provocation for the clashes took place in the Zulfiqar colony in the city. Some teens traveling on their bikes had no mufflers, made noise. Bhainsa, known for its frequent community clashes, also saw two major violent incidents last year.
