For the fifth time in a week, Mumbai city reported a spike in Covid-19 cases, with over 1000 people testing positive for the virus amid rising concerns. In fact, on Sunday, the city reported the highest number of cases in months with nearly 1,400 people testing positive for the virus. Five people also succumbed to the virus, taking the overall toll to 11,500. Whereas, 1020 people recovered in the last 24 hours. The active cases stand at 10,731. In Mumbai division, Thane city, Kalyan, Dombivali, Bhiwandi, Mira Bhayander, Palghar, Vasai, Virar and Raigad did not report a single COVID-19 fatality during the day. The recovery rate in the city is 93 per cent, while the doubling rate is 231 days. The cases also continue to rise in the state. After reporting more than 10,000 fresh coronavirus positive cases on two days in a row, Maharashtra added 11,141 new infections on Sunday, taking the tally to 22,19,727 while 38 deaths pushed the toll to 52,478.

Bombay Hospital seeks BMC approval to give Covid vaccination shot till 10pm
UMBAI: Bombay Hospital, Marine Lines, has sought BMC's nod to carry out vaccination for extended hours. NCB conducts multiple raids in Goa, Mumbai
Officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB ) of Maharashtra and Goa conducted multiple raids and caught drug peddlers including foreigners as well as seized a huge amount of drugs from their possession in Goa.The team, led by zonal officer Sameer Wankhede conducted raids at multiple locations across Goa late on Sunday as part of an anti-narcotics drive.Speaking to ANI over the phone, Wankhede said that his team has caught drug peddlers including foreigners.
