IPL 2021 – Chennai Super Kings: A happy Chennai Super Kings on Sunday thanked the BCCI for finalising what they called a “perfect fixture” for dates and venue for 14th edition of Indian Premier League. The IPL 2021 will see one of the biggest change ever in IPL history. All the matches of IPL 2021 will be played at neutral Venues and there will be no home advantage for any IPL franchise.
“Yes its perfect. Having a series of matches in select city will mean less logistical problem. No team will have any undue advantage. No team is getting to host any match. All matches will be held in neutral venues means no home advantage for any team,” CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan told InsideSport.co on Sunday shortly after BCCI released the full itinerary for venues and dates for this year’s IPL.
“We are confident that CSK will make a turnaround from our last year’s performance. Last year was the only year when we did not do that well. So there is no reason we cant be among the top teams this year. Players are coming and will join the camp according to their availability. Its starting on Tuesday,” he noted.
But this means MS Dhoni will not play any of the game in Chennai. This may be last IPL for the mercurial captain and unfortunately he will not get to play in front of his home crown under the new schedule guidelines by BCCI.
CSK IPL 2021 schedule:
CSK will begin their campaign against Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 10 at 7:30 PM. The MS Dhoni-led side will play its five opening games in Mumbai, followed by four fixtures in Delhi. The final five CSK games will be played in Bengaluru (three) and Kolkata (two).
The three-times champion will begin their training camp from March 9. The players will undergo five-day quarantine, after which they will enter the bio-bubble.
