CHENNAI: The
Tamil Nadu government has made
e-pass mandatory for all international and domestic
passengers from other states and Union territories except from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry.
This would be an auto e-pass (https://eregister.tnega.org), said an official government order. It means that passes will be generated automatically and needs no state authority to clear it.
Also, business travellers visiting Tamil Nadu for a short stay of 72 are exempted from home quarantine norms.
Transit passengers from the UK, South Africa and Brazil -- whose final destination is in Tamil Nadu and who have tested
Covid-19 negative at other transit airports in the country -- should submit their samples on arrival at an
airport in the state. The state health department will follow up based on the test results, according to revised guidelines issued by the state on March 4.
