MANUU to organize mobile film festival on women’s empowerment

Hyderabad: The Moulana Azad National Urdu University’s Instructional Media Center is organizing a themed film festival on the empowerment of women on Monday.

Instructional Media Center (IMC) has teamed up with the prestigious Mobile Film Festival, Paris, for the film festival.

Bruno Smadja, Head, Mobile Film Festival, has agreed to present 60 one-minute films each from 25 countries for the empowerment of women for this film festival.

The festival is also held at IMC Preview Theater, the MANUU campus here, also on IMC YouTube Channel and other social media platforms.

Bruno Smadja said he is excited to showcase the films to Indian audience.

“These films are inspiring and will inspire women to become more independent,” he said.

IMC Director Rizwan Ahamd said it would be a unique program where many powerful films, shot from different countries on mobile phones, would be shown to the audience. Bruno will also address the audience during the inaugural ceremony which will be broadcast live on the IMC MANUU Youtube channel.

MANUU Vice-Chancellor Prof B Rehmatullah congratulated IMC on its efforts to plan such an important program on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

MANUU Inchar registrar Prof. Siddique Mohd. Mahmood said it is important to educate everyone about women’s rights, and this program with the medium of cinema will definitely enrich the audience of all age groups.

Prof. Shahida Murtuza, Director of the Center for Women’s Studies, MANUU will address the inaugural address, which will be attended by professors, deans, directors and Heads of MANUU.
