24 years old Tripura youth arrested for killing his father

Agartala, Mar 7 (UNI) A 24 years old addicted youth was arrested on Sunday for killing his 60 years old father Srikanta Gour in their home at Brajendra Nagar village under Kadamtala Police station in Dharmanagar.
Police arrested the accused son Ramdas Gour yesterday on the charge of killing and he admitted the crime.
According to police, Ramdas and his father used to stay in the same house located in a tea garden but they were prone to quarrel. A habitual drunker Ramdas used to turn violent and assault his father and wife.
A disgusted wife left his home a few days back and stayed at her parental home. Ramdas told police; on March 5 night he returned home in a drunken condition and got engaged in a quarrel with his father and at a point in time hit him with an iron rod killing him on the spot.
The next morning accused informed the Panchayat chief that his father was lying in an unconscious condition. But the villagers had found him dead with a head injury and police shifted the deceased to hospital for post mortem.
Meantime, Ramdas was detained by police and after the last rites, he was arrested.
Gour was produced to court seeking three days custody for further investigation.

Ambassa (Tripura), Mar 7 (UNI) Road accident on the part of National Highway 08 in Ambassa last evening claimed a life as the injured biker succumbed to his injuries in Agartala Medical College and Hospital(AGMC) in the capital city this morning.
