JAISALMER: BSF jawans on Friday night killed a Pakistani intruder at Anupgarh in Ganganagar district under Bikaner sector.
After the incident, the area was cordoned off and a search operation launched, though it did not yield any results.
During a body search, some Pakistan currency was found on the intruder. Security analysts said it could have been a dummy drive to check the level of preparedness of the armed forces along the border by Pakistani agencies.
Protesting the incident, the BSF held a flag meeting with Pakistan Rangers and submitted a protest note. The BSF tried to hand over the body, but Pakistan Rangers refused to take it. The body was later buried near the border.
According to senior BSF officers at Kailash border outpost, around 8pm on Friday, jawans saw some movement in Pakistan area and detected an intruder trying to enter India through BP No. 368/1
Though the jawans challenged him, the intruder reached near the fencing. When the BSF warned him again, he started running towards Pakistan following which the border force fired at him and killed him.
