KOLKATA: A post-doctorate trainee doctor in a government hospital in south Kolkata has lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against one of her department seniors at the local police station on Friday.
An FIR has been lodged under IPC sections pertaining to molestation and insulting the modesty of a woman. "A probe has been initiated. We might ask her to record her statement before a magistrate," said an officer.
Mother of a child, the victim brought charges of demanding sexual favours at the workplace against the senior doctor, who also allegedly threatened her to ruin her career if she did not yield to his demands. The woman has also accused the head of her department of conspiring with the senior doctor in the alleged offence.
