IPL 2021 – Punjab Kings IPL 2021 schedule: Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon said they are happy with the IPL schedule which was announced on Sunday. The 2021 IPL season will be held in five IPL franchise cities, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Delhi, while Ahmedabad will act as a neutral venue. Punjab has not been shortlisted as an IPL venue. However, Menon says the IPL franchise has no problem with it.
“We are perfectly Okay and happy with the schedule. We don’t have any problem with it. We are having a meeting with the Board of Directors to take the logistics from where and we will decide things accordingly. We are certainly not going to challenge IPL’s decision,” he told InsideSport.
Notably, the BCCI and IPL Governing Council took the decision without any in-person or virtual meeting. The logistic team worked out and approval was taken from the BCCI secretary & IPL Chairman.
IPL 2021 Fixtures and Schedule:
After nearly two years, the IPL extravaganza will return home with Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata hosting the marquee event.
The season will kickstart on 9th April, 2021 in Chennai with a high octane clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The World’s Largest Cricket Stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Playoffs as well as the final on 30th May, 2021 which promises to be a visual spectacle. The newly-built stadium that hosted India’s second Pink Ball fixture at home with great grandeur will host its first-ever IPL.
There will be a total of 11 doubleheaders where 6 teams will play three-afternoon matches & two teams will play two-afternoon matches. The afternoon games are slated for a 3:30 PM IST to start while the evening games will have a 7:30 PM IST start.
