Hyderabad: The state government declared a holiday for all women employees in the state departments on Monday (March 8), in celebration of International Women’s Day. Following instructions from Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, General Secretary Somesh Kumar issued orders to allow female employees on Monday to use special causal leave.
Prime Minister Chandrashekhar Rao, who conveyed his greetings to women in the state of Telangana during International Women’s Day, said women play a key role in development. He said that women not only compete with men, but that they also excel in all areas. “Women, who make up 50 percent of the population, will do miracles if they get a chance,” he said.
The prime minister said the state government is taking a number of measures to take women on the path of development and progress, including setting up the SHE teams, Aasara pensions for women, single women and widows, schemes like Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana . Laxmi, KCR Kits, raising salaries of ASHA workers, and among others Anganwadi teachers to empower women. He said the Telangana state was at the forefront when it came to women’s welfare.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan warmly greeted all the women in the state. She felt that it was high time for society to follow and apply the spirit of gender equality, as well as to promote women in decision-making roles in all walks of life for a more just and inclusive world. “International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate and follow the success of women in different walks of life. From family care to nation building, women are always omnipotent, ”she said.
The governor said the country’s heritage, culture and traditions have respected and honored women for centuries and worship them as the personification of the goddess Shakti. ‘I salute the spirit of sacrifice and bravery that women as caregivers and leading warriors during the Covid-19 pandemic. Let us all decide in the right spirit and work for the overall development of women and gender equality, ”she said.
