Hyderabad: Music cannot be sold for money, but it must be felt and learned from the heart, says B Ravi Ganesh, a visually impaired person who has been giving music since 1996.
Despite his blindness, B. Ravi Ganesh has run a music institute since 1996. With only one student in 1996, Ganesh claims to have taught 1,000 students so far.
B. Ravi Ganesh, the founder of Na Swaram Music Institute, told ANI: ‘Music is something I have been passionate about since I was young. Music is not something that is sold for money, but I think music should come from the heart and be learned from the heart. ”
Ravi said he found his passion in music at a young age.
‘I was born with this blindness and my parents were worried about me and my future. While trying to find a secure future for me, they discovered my passion for singing. I started singing at the age of 4. “At a young age, I found my passion for music and that’s when I decided to make it my future, ‘Ravi said.
Because he was a visually impaired person, Ravi had to face many challenges from the beginning.
Ravi said: ‘I have had a lot of problems due to lack of vision. Despite being blind, my parents never sent me to a blind school. I went to a normal school like other children, but had to face many challenges. Then I opted for BA Music. I practiced memorizing everything. And to date, I do not have to touch my braille notes. It was not easy for me from the beginning. ”
“While pursuing an MA in Music, I started teaching people. After completing my music course, I started this music institute in 1996 with just one student. To date, I have been able to teach 1,000 students of all ages, and some are older than me, ”Ganesh said.
‘From this institute, students will obtain their diploma in music. I want to teach as many people as possible, regardless of their age, ”he added.
