Experienced midfielder Keagan Buchanan is reportedly locked in contract talks with Swallows FC following his recent departure from Maritzburg United.

The 29-year-old is without a club after being released by the Team of Choice on transfer deadline day, with club chairman Farouk Kadodia claiming the midfielder had "lost his focus on his job here".

However, Buchanan could soon be back in the DStv Premiership as the high-flying Dube Birds are said to be in talks with the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein player.

According to Soccer Laduma, Buchanan is discussing joining Swallows on a deal that will run until the end of the current campaign.

Buchanan made 16 appearances for Maritzburg in all competitions this season, bagging four assists in the process.
