Swiss Open: PV Sindhu sails out in the final, Srikanth

Basel: PV Sindhu, the Ace India commuter, advanced to the final of the Swiss Open on Saturday after registering a live victory over Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt in the semi-finals.

The silver medalist from the Rio Olympics won 22-20, 21-10 which lasted 43 minutes. The world no. 2 experienced a tough battle in the first game when it went head to head before Sindhu finally won it at 22-20.

But the Indian commuter showed her class in the second match and gave no margin of error for her opponent to dominate the match.

However, Kidambi Srikanth crashed out of the tournament after losing in the semi-final to Viktor Axelsen, the no. 1, lost. Axelsen, Denmark, outscored Srikanth 21-13, 21-19 in 41 minutes to advance to the final of the tournament.

Srikanth did not gain momentum in the first game and struggled to keep the shuttle on track. In the second match, the Indian player tried to make a turn, but the former Axelsen denied it when he stabbed the close match 21-19.
