IIIT Hyderabad’s annual R&D exhibition today

Hyderabad: IIIT-Hyderabad’s annual R & D exhibition will be presented on Saturday 6 March in an entirely virtual format. The event is an excellent opportunity for the general public to interact with faculties and students and understand their work in more tangible forms through demos, prototypes and presentations, in line with the institute’s pursuit of applied research to promote what benefits society.

Currently in its 20th edition, the event has grown in strength year after year, attracting more than 3,000 visitors from research, academia, media and industry. This year’s virtual research exhibition includes the 22 research centers of IIITH, 300+ research demos and an inaugural lecture by Prof Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Professor in Institute, IIT Madras.

This year’s exhibition will also feature research from IIITH’s Kohli Intelligent Systems Center (KCIS), the newly launched Smart City Research Center in collaboration with MEITY (Government of India), Smart City Mission and the Government of Telangana, as well as Applied artificial, set up. Intelligence (AI) Research Center (INAI) which worked to apply AI to problems in the population in the Indian context, and it combines research and translation in collaboration with Intel and Govt of Telangana.

Prof PJ Narayanan, Director, IIITH commented on R&D Showcase 2021, saying: “Although we will miss the personal interaction with visitors from other educational institutions and industries, students have enthusiastically adapted to the new virtual format and are excited to continue their research and the positive impact of technology on society for an even larger borderless audience ”.
