Former Ranji player from Andhra Pradesh held for cheating again

Former Ranji player B Nagaraju, who was earlier allegedly involved in 10 cases of cheating, was arrested yet again by Hyderabad police on Saturday. Police said they have registered nine more cases recently in addition to the previous 10. The 25-year-old youngster from Andhra Pradesh allegedly impersonated information technology minister KT Rama Rao’s personal secretary B Tirupathi and called nine corporates demanding money for the swearing-in ceremony of minister KTR, as chief minister of the state, police said. One death, 170 new Covid-19 cases in Telangana

Telangana registered 170 new coronavirus cases, taking the total caseload to 2.99 lakh, while the toll rose to 1,640 with one more fatality. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 28, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri and Rangareddy, Karimnagar districts with 15 and 14 and 12 respectively, a state government bulletin said on Saturday providing details as of 8pm on March 5. Andhra Pradesh: Three-legged girl born at Nuzvid area hospital

In a rare instance, a woman gave birth to a three-legged girl child at Nuzvid area hospital in Krishna district on Friday. According to sources, the woman, identified as Venkateswaramma, is a resident of Shetty Vanapalli of Chintalapudi mandal in West Godavari district. Initially surprised at the extra limb protruding from child’s tail bone, doctors later realised that Venkateswaramma and her husband Mohan Rao had a consanguineous marriage. "Deleterious lethal genes that are inherited from common ancestors when transmitted to an offspring can lead to child morbidity, prenatal and neonatal issues," doctors said. Read full story
