Bengaluru: A total of six ministers in the BS Yediyurappa government on Friday requested a court in Bengaluru to publish a suspension against the media or slander anything that insults them.
The ministers include B Basavaraj, Dr K Sudhakar, BC Patil, Shivram Hebbar, HT Somashekar and KC Narayana Gowda a city court moved the court in Bengaluru and demanded that the media stop broadcasting any defamatory or illicit content about it / pressure.
The six Karnataka ministers have moved to the civil court here in connection with a case over sex tapes allegedly involving Ramesh Jarkiholi, who recently resigned as minister.
The six ministers are among the 17 MLAs who revolted and led to the fall of the Congressional JD (S) coalition government, which paved the way for the BJP to come to power.
He responded to the recent allegation made by Jarkiholi, Minister of Social Water Resources, Karnataka, former Minister of Karnataka, on March 2 by social activist Dinesh Kallahalli. Jarakiholi resigned within 24 hours of the release of an alleged sex tape.
There has been an uproar following Jarkiholi’s resignation with former Karnataka minister HD Kumaraswamy, who says people who claim to be in possession of obscene CDs and who use them to blackmail politicians should be arrested. “These extortionists” are a threat to society, the JD (S) leader said.
The leader of the JD (S) refused to take any names, claiming that the entire episode took place in the past two to three months and that many high-profile people were involved in the case.
“It is the government’s responsibility to get to the bottom of the matter and bring out the truth,” Kumaraswamy urged the Karnataka government.
