Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy questioned the stoic silence maintained by both TRS and BJP leaders on the issue of rising unemployment in the state. He claims that both parties blame themselves for the debt games to divert people’s attention from the failures of their governments in the state and in the center.
He addressed a series of meetings on Saturday as part of the MLC election campaign in favor of a Waraval-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency candidate, Sabavath Ramulu Naik. He addressed a meeting with party workers in Miryalaguda. Later, he had an interactive session with attorneys in Miryalguda Court. He also addressed a meeting with rice millers in Miryalaguda and a youth congress meeting in the Nagarjuna Sagar constituency.
On the occasion, Uttam said that both TRS and BJP leaders are setting up new dramas of political rivalry every day to divert people’s attention from the most important issues. “Prime Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao must break his silence on the issue of rising unemployment in Telangana. He must explain how he proposes to provide employment to nearly 30 lakh unemployed youths from Telangana. “He can not wash his hands by claiming that the state government has provided several thousand jobs,” he said.
‘A doctor is expected to give treatment until a patient fully recovers. He cannot wash his hands by saying that he has already given the pill or an injection to the patient. “Similarly, the state government cannot evade the responsibility of providing jobs for everyone by claiming that it provides employment to several thousand people while people are still unemployed,” he said.
He said the allegations and counter-arguments between TRS and BJP leaders over the issue of ITIR and Kazipet Railway Coach Factory clearly show that both parties have betrayed Telangana and are now trying to fix the percentage of debt that each party should share. He said the Congress Party had said from the beginning that the BJP government in the center was not sincere towards Telangana. However, CM KCR not only supports all decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but also acts more actively compared to other BJP CMs.
Referring to the growth figures allegedly submitted to the center by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics and claiming that the GSDP growth of 1.35% is in the current fiscal 2020-21, Uttam Kumar Reddy warned the TRS government to inflate use figures to demand economic growth. He said the Accountant and Auditor General of India (CAG) and the 15th Finance Commission in their reports revealed that the Telangana government had committed deliberate accounting errors to increase figures and growth. He said such false claims of the state’s economy outperforming the national average are being used to take out huge loans at different interest rates from different agencies. These amounts have been used for projects that are generating a huge setback and commission for TRS leaders. He said the TRS government has so far borrowed more than Rs. 3 Lakh crore that pushed Telangana into a major debt crisis. He said thousands of crowns of taxpayers’ money would be wasted on paying excessive interest for nearly two decades because of the wrong economic policy of the KCR government.
Reddy said the prime minister should present a realistic budget this year and that he should propose specific solutions to tackle the problems of unemployment. Furthermore, he said that the Prime Minister should allocate sufficient funds for the implementation of Rs. 3,016 monthly allowance to all unemployed youths with retroactive effect from December 2018. He said provision should also be made to accommodate the civil servants of not less than 43%.
The TPCC chief advised the party cadre to meet all the voters in the MLC Graduates constituencies and seek their support for the victory of Congress candidates G. Chinna Reddy from the constituencies Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar and Ramul Naik of Warangal -Khammam-Nalgonda to ensure.
Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar Reddy, candidate for the MLC Ramulu Naik, Bellya Naik, Vice President of AICC ST, Bellya Naik, President Shankar Naik, the leader of the municipal floor, Laxma Reddy, and others paid tribute to the mortal remains of the army- jawaan Pagilla Venkanna in Miryalaguda who died near Pathankot on Indo-Pak border.
