Hyderabad: Telangana boxer from Nizamabad Nikhat Zareen will represent India in the 51kg category in the upcoming Istanbul Bosphorus boxing tournament, which will be held from 15 to 21 March.
The Sports Authority of India has released a list of boxers who would represent the country at the event. Mary Kom, who is also in the same category as Nikhat, has been rested for the tournament.
A Venkateshwar Reddy, sports chief of the Telangana head of state, congratulated the boxer on her choice and hoped that she would win honors for the country in the coming events.
