In fact, the worker working in the health department got divorced from his first wife in June 2005, after which the family court in September 2017 ordered that person to pay Rs 20 thousand per month for raising the child. He later approached the High Court. On not getting relief, that person moved to the Supreme Court.

It was argued in the Supreme Court by the government worker that the salary that comes into his hands is about 21 thousand. Our client has got married for the second time and has two children from the second marriage, so it is impossible to give 20 thousand rupees per month to the son born from the first marriage.

Asked to pay 10 thousand rupees per month
Advocate Gaurav Aggarwal, appearing for the child and mother in the court, said, "It would be better if the father is instructed to pay a lesser amount for maintenance every month, but the maintenance amount will continue till he takes a bachelor's degree."
The Bench, asking the proposal to be appropriate, has asked the person to give Rs 10,000 for the maintenance of the son from March 2021. It is also said that every financial year, this amount will have to be increased by one rupee.
