Congress is for social justice and has fielded a tribal candidate in MLC polls: N Uttam Kumar Reddy

HYDERABAD: Of the two Graduate MLC constituencies going to polls on March 14, the Congress has fielded one ST candidate and the other from Reddy community to ensure social justice.
While Sabavath Ramulu Naik is contesting from Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam seat, G Chinna Reddy has entered the electoral fray from Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar constituency.
Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy appealed to voters to realise that both TRS and BJP have fielded candidates from Reddy community in Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam constituency, and Brahmins from Hyderabad-RR-Mahbubnagar seat.
Palla Rajeshwar reddy of TRS and Premender Reddy of BJP are in fray from Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam, and N Ramchander Rao of BJP and and S Vani Devi of TRS are in electoral fray from Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar seat.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi has followed party’s social justice policy by fielding Ramulu Naik from a general category seat, a Girijan, as its candidate in MLC elections from Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam, Uttam said while addressing the party leaders and workers through an app.
“TRS sitting MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy has no moral right to seek votes as he has hardly done anything for the welfare of graduates and unemployed in the last six years. The TRS wants to win elections with money and liquor power. Work hard and ensure victory of party candidates,” Uttam told the party cadre.
Uttam slammed the BJP Government at Centre for huge rise in the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas and failing to give 2 crore jobs per year, a promise made by Narendra Modi. KCR-led TRS government has not done anything significant for nearly 30 lakh unemployed youth in Telangana. Of them, he said over 19 lakh qualified youth were registered with the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). The KCR government did not even dole out the unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,016 to jobless youth so far, a promise KCR made in the 2018 TRS poll manifesto.
Uttam demanded the state government fill up 1.91 lakh vacancies identified by the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) besides taking measures to generate employment opportunities for the remaining 28-29 lakh jobless people. The government should also start giving unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,016 to all jobless youth with retrospective effect from December 2018 and extend 43 per cent fitment to government employees, he demanded.
The TPCC chief said the main contest in the MLC elections from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency was between Congress and TRS. He said voting for Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) President M Kodandaram would go waste as he was not a strong contender in the elections.
