Myanmar protests and crackdown intensify, 38 dead; US calls on China to help end coup
US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price says the U.S. is "saddened" by the latest brutal crackdown in Myanmar and is calling on China to join in helping to stop the violence. This comes a day after videos showed security forces shooting a person at point-blank range and chasing down and savagely beating demonstrators. 38 people were killed. He said, "so when it comes to China, our message has been very clear. China needs to be a constructive, responsible actor when it comes to the military coup in Burma."
