Ind vs Eng 4th Test: Strauss slams England’s batting performance, says, ‘stop making excuses’

Ind vs Eng 4th Test:After a buzz over the Ahmedabad pitch following third Test, Andrew Strauss has come up with a completely opposite response. Former England captain has criticized the batting performances of England players adding that they can no longer make excuses.

Speaking to Channel 4, Strauss said, “The Indian bowling was good, we’ve come to expect good quality Indian bowling… but let’s not hide away from the truth: England’s batting in these conditions is not good enough, quite frankly.”

“You can think of all sorts of excuses around pitches and balls and inexperience, but if you want to win in India you have got to find a way of getting first-innings runs and England haven’t been able to do that,” he added.

England were bowled out for just 205 runs in their first innings in ongoing India vs England 4th Test. They have collapsed against India every time since their second innings in the opening Test. Their scorecards read 112, 81, 134, 164 and 178 in the last five innings.

The visitors are on brink of a consecutive series defeat against India. They had suffered 4-0 in their last tour of India (2016/17).

On the other hand, Virat Kohli and Co are aiming to seal their berth in the WTC Final against New Zealand. The WTC Final will be played between June 18-22 at Lord’s, London.

England still can play a spoilsport in the last Test with a win as Australia are still in contention of WTC Final spot.
