Kolkata, Mar 5 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today
announced that she will contest from Nandigram assembly seat
and her Bhawanipur seat to be contested by her power minister
Shovandeb Chatterjhee in the 2021 poll.
Announcing the All India Trinamool Congress candidates for 294-seat
poll to be held in eight phases, AITC chairperson Mamata
Banerjee said her party to contest at 291 seats and they are friendly
party ( GJM) to contest in the remaining three seats of Darjeeling,
Kaiimpong and Kurseong.
Ms Banejree said that she will contest only from the Nandigram seat
in East Medinipur and her Bhowanipur seat from which she won
last two assembly poll ( 2011) and (2016) will be contested by her
power minister Shovandeb Chatterjee, a resident of Bhowanipur.
Among the 291 candidates, the TMC has fielded altogether 50 women
contestants, 79 scheduled castes candidates and 17 tribal people.
The eight phases poll in Bengal starting from March 27.
