REUTERS: Everton must step up their efforts and make more sacrifices in chasing Champions League qualification, manager Carlo Ancelotti said after a win at West Bromwich Albion lifted them to fifth in the Premier League.

Brazilian striker Richarlison continued his scoring form with a fourth goal in as many Premier League games to earn Everton a hard-fought 1-0 victory at The Hawthorns on Thursday.

The Merseyside club have 46 points from 26 games, trailing fourth-placed Chelsea, who have played a game more, by one point.

"At the start of the season no one could say Everton, after 26 games, would be there," Ancelotti said. "The dream is the Champions League.

"There's more pressure because we are in the fight for Europe, we want to be there and we have worked really hard to be there.

"We have to step up a bit, there's more to sacrifice. If I look at the table, I'm really happy because the position is good, but it's not the end of the season and we have to fight."
