Ecstasy tablets from the Netherlands seized in Chennai

CHENNAI: Customs officials in Chennai seized 95 MDMA tablets – worth Rs 4.75 lakh – that were sent from the Netherlands.
Based on information, air customs officials detained an unregistered postal parcel that arrived at the foreign post office.
The parcel was addressed to a Kanyakumari-based person. When it was cut open, a transparent polythene packet containing 95 pink colour tablets, suspected to be MDMA (Ecstasy, a party drug), was found.
The MDMA tablets were seized under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
