Complete land acquisition within ten days: Siddipet Collector

Siddipet: District Collector P Venkatrami Reddy instructed the revenue officers to complete the land acquisition for LD6 Distributory Canal from Ranganayaka Sagar’s Right Canal.

The Collector said during a review meeting with revenue and irrigation officials on Friday that the LD6 channel will help fill tanks in Basvapur and Gundreddy pallets of Koheda mandal.

The Collector stressed the importance of completing the distribution canals and small canals to supply water at the end of the lands, saying that the availability of water in tanks will help farmers cultivate the summer crops.

He asked them to complete the land acquisition and canal work within ten days from today. The Collector said they need 22 hectares of land for the distribution canal and 4 hectares each for small canals in Basvapur and Gundreddypally respectively.

Reddy further said that they had clear instructions from Prime Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Finance Minister T Harish Rao to fill all the tanks under Ranganayaka Sagar with Godavari waters during this summer. The Collector said that the farmers’ co-operation is of cardinal importance for the acquisition of land, and the local representatives must play a key role in convincing the farmers.
