I play according to situation, says Rishabh Pant

Ahmedabad, Mar 5 (UNI) India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who helped India take 89 runs lead against England in the ongoing fourth Test here, said that he plays according to the situation and hits the shot depending on the ball.
"I like to play according to the situation. I just see the ball and react to it; that's the USP of my game, Pant told the match broadcasters.
He played 101 runs knock off just 118 balls, helping India get a health lead against the visitors. During the course of his swashbuckling innings, he hit 13 fours and 2 sixes.
"I just want to play cricket and help my team win. If the people is getting entertained then I am happy to it more, he added.
On being asked what was going on in his mind when India were in trouble, he said that team plan was to buildup partnership and got past 205 run-mark.
"The plan was just to build a partnership when I joined Rohit Bhai. That was the only thing on my mind. I though that I would assess the pitch first and then start playing my shots. Sometimes when the bowler is bowling well, you have to give credit to the bowler and respect the ball. If you get a bad ball then you can go for a big shot," Pant, who scored his first ton on the Indian soil, told the broadcasters.
He added, "I do not play for individual records, I was just thinking about the execution of the team plan."
When he was asked does he have the licence to attack, he said, "I get the license most of the time, but I have to assess the situation and take the game head on."
Pant and Washington Sundar stitched together a partnership of 113 runs for the seventh wicket, helping India get past 250-run mark.
Pant swept the ball for six over the mid-wicket reason off Joe Root, bringing up his third Test hundred. He took 82 balls to score his first 50 runs but next 50 runs came in just 34 balls.
Anderson broke this partnership. Pant tried to play into the mid-wicket area, but he was caught at short mid-wicket by Root for 101 off 118 balls.
