Pardeep Narwal, the kabaddi player from Rindhana, Haryana has established himself as one of the best to ever grace the sport despite being just 24 years old. He has already won the Kabaddi World Cup in 2016, a bronze at the 2018 Asian Games among many accolades with the Indian national team. In Pro Kabaddi League as well the superstar raider, Narwal has left his ever-lasting impact at such a young age. He is already PKL’s all-time leading point scorer as well the leader in total raid points and has led Patna Pirates to a hat-trick of titles in his first three years with the team.

However, his journey to where he is right was not easy. Rindhana is the Heartland of Kabaddi and the hometown of the Narwals – the most famous Kabaddi clan. “While growing up, I always felt like a misfit and never thought I could carry the great Narwal name on my shoulders”, Pardeep said.

Pardeep ‘Record-Breaker’ Narwal, who made his PKL debut in season 2 with Bengaluru Bulls, showed what he is made of in the following season when he joined Patna Pirates. While he featured sporadically for a star-studded side, in Patna, he formed a formidable pair with Rohit Kumar, as the duo wreaked havoc and led a young Patna Pirates team to their maiden Pro Kabaddi title.

When he was a kid, people often used to tell him that he is ‘too shy’ to become a kabaddi player, fast forward a few years, he has now become one of the most aggressive raiders in the business. “I took it up as a challenge to prove everyone around me wrong – I put my heart, soul, and hard work into kabaddi”, Pardeep added.
