P Siam Knitting Factory, a knitting mill in Thailand which supplies to domestic brands and retailers with international standard, has picked Amicor, a high performance anti-microbial fibre from Thai Acrylic Fibre (TAF), to create new range for their customers. Amicor fibre was developed into kidswear and hospital uniforms to serve during the pandemic.
“We have been producing sweaters, cardigans, and all flat knit related products to brands and retailers since we started our company 30 years ago. Until a few years back, we started to have some new customers in hospital segment, looking for cardigans for their staffs because the temperature in the hospitals is quite cold. We had worked with TAF on some of their specialty fibres like Radianza, Pilbloc, and Warmos earlier. And we saw that, their Amicor seems to be a good option for this project due to its durability of anti-microbial performance as its function can be last long up to 100 washes. And the usage of the cardigan, they would not wash every day, may be once a week. Then, we could see the potential of Amicor in kidswear because the parents always want to keep their kids’ hygiene. We positively think that, these two markets would be interested in this collection,” Korawit Suchadaphong, managing director of P Siam Knitting Factory, said in a press release.
“We have been working with P Siam Knitting Factory for a few years now. Korawit is a new generation leader who attaches great importance to innovation. We appreciate his initiative on using Amicor in the new segment, especially in this pandemic that people concern much more on health and hygiene. We hope these twos would be the new potential markets for Amicor, too,” Ashwini Chotani, chief marketing officer of Thai Acrylic Fibre said.
