UP: SI posted at Vidhan Bhavan dies of suicide

Lucknow, Mar 4 (UNI) A Sub-Inspector, who was deployed on security duty outside the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Bhavan, shot himself dead with his government pistol on Thursday.
Lucknow Police Commissioner DK Thakur said that the Sub-Inspector Nirmal Kumar Chaubey (53), posted at the Banthara police station, was deployed at Gate number 7 of the Vidhan Bhavan on duty.
The sound of firing was heard suddenly at the Vidhan Bhavan park at around 1500 hrs. When the security personnel reached the spot, they saw Nirmal Kumar lying in a critical state. The bullet shot had been fired from his government pistol. He was rushed to the Civil hospital in a critical state where the doctors declared him brought dead.
In a suicide note addressed to the Chief Minister which was recovered from Mr Chaubey, it was stated that he was ill and is going.
The deceased originally hailed from Varanasi and had joined the police force in 1987. The Hazratganj police is investigating the matter.
