Shivraj Chouhan receives first jab of COVID-19 vaccine

Bhopal, Mar 4 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan on Thursday received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine at Hamidia hospital here.

In a tweet, Mr Chouhan said, 'Got my first dose of the vaccination against COVID-19 this morning.

As per the prescribed guidelines, he stayed there for a while after getting vaccinated.

'Our country is rapidly moving on the path of freedom from this virus. This has been possible due to diligence of our scientists and doctors and the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I congratulate you all from the heart, ' he tweeted.

The Chief Minister appealed people to get vaccinated and speed up the efforts of the state and the country to get rid of the virus.

'Collective efforts are required to make it a success. Let us move formard and make a healthy state and country,' the Chief Minister added.

The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16. Around 9.5 lakh people have been vaccinated so far in the state.
