D-Link releases full HD Wi-Fi camera with built-in AI person detection

Taiwanese multinational networking equipment, D-Link, has today announced the release of a brand new full HD Wi-Fi camera, with built-in AI-based person detection. This intelligent camera can identify human motion, minimising false alarms, ensuring users see the alerts that matter.

The brand new D-Link DCS-8300LHV2 camera is smarter, yet simpler than ever. It captures video in full high-definition 1080p with a 120-degree field of view. It has 360-degree adjustable positioning, and crisp five metres of night vision. The specs ensure users can see everything, even in the dark.

The new, AI-based human detection feature is a big plus; those with so-called smart monitoring devices already know too well how easily dogs and cats can set off an alert. While it’s always wonderful to see your furry friends at play, the big risk is you ignore a real break-in thinking it’s yet another pet. D-Link’s AI takes this problem away, meaning you only receive alerts when it truly matters.

It also provides enhanced sound and motion detection, along with two-audio, so users can make their presence feel no matter where in the world they are.

The device includes support for WPA3, bringing the latest in Wi-Fi security, plus Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility, support for ONVIF Profile S. Quick, IPv6, and easy setup with built-in BLE technology.

Users can download the free mydlink app for their smartphone or tablet, allowing you to watch your cameras anytime, anywhere. The app also includes smart Bluetooth setup, an easy setup wizard, scheduling, intuitive automation, and a timeline view for all your videos and events. The mydlink Cloud is TRUSTe privacy certified in six languages, compliant with global regulatory standards and privacy policies.

The DCS-8300LHV2 is available now from www.dlink.com.au (RRP AUD$129.95), www.dlink.co.nz (RRP NZ$149.99) and from all authorised D-Link Partners and Retailers in both countries.
